Lion & Dragon Dance

In 1995 the CCKSF joined the International Lion and Dragon Federation in Hong Kong. This unique organization has been instructmental in Chinese culture and tradition for many years. An opportunity has now been given to us to learn this ancient custom and at the same time offering clubs an opportunity to improve business by performing at functions in your town or city.

The Lion and Dragon Dance will also be featured in the 1996 CCKSF Annual Tournament in October. To this end the CCKSF suggests that you set up a Lion & Dragon Dance team in your community. You should elect or select a team leader who will be trained by the Lion & Dragon Dance Society' instructors. Once your leader has mastered the Lion and Dragon Dance techniques, he will then develop a team to compete in local and national competition. This dream of competition in Canadian society will still has a long, long way into reality.

As stated above, this is a great chance for members and clubs to earn money while learning an ancient skill, For anyone who thinks that the Lion and Dragon Dance is for the faint of heart, we say that you have probably never seen a performance.
